Since 1984, R.F. Ohl has been a family-owned cornerstone of the Lehighton community. What started as a diesel fuel operation for water well drilling has grown into one of the most trusted HVAC, fuel delivery, and plumbing companies in the Poconos and NEPA region.

Our History
The R.F. Ohl Journey
A Family Business Is Born
Bobby and Brenda Ohl founded R.F. Ohl to supply diesel fuel for a water well drilling operation. Drawing on Bobby's extensive heating oil industry experience, the company quickly expanded into residential fuel delivery.
The Next Generation Joins
Sons Steve and Brad Ohl joined the company full-time, bringing fresh energy and a shared commitment to the family business.
Sharpening the Focus
The company divested its water well drilling operations to concentrate entirely on fuel delivery and customer service.
A Place to Call Home
R.F. Ohl opened its first dedicated office in a former lumber building, establishing a permanent presence in the community.
Carrying On a Legacy
Bobby Ohl passed away unexpectedly in August 2002. Steve and Brad honored their father's legacy by continuing to grow the business with the same values he instilled.
Expanding Services
Relocated to Route 209 and added oil burner service and repair, broadening the company's ability to serve customers' complete heating needs.
Cooling Comfort Added
Began air conditioning installations, mini-split systems, and AC repairs, becoming a full-service HVAC provider for homeowners across the region.
A Bittersweet Transition
Brad Ohl retired due to medical reasons, but his impact on the company remains deeply felt in the standards and culture he helped build.
Strategic Refinement
Sold propane delivery to Chesapeake Utilities while retaining propane equipment servicing and oil delivery, allowing the team to focus on what they do best.
Our Current Home
Purchased the current headquarters at 160 S 2nd Street in Lehighton, a lasting home for the growing team and a base to serve the community for decades to come.
